The daughter of an art teacher and descendant of the celebrated artist Mary Cassatt, Julianne has been painting the American Western landscape for 15 years in pastels. While continuing to paint in her first love of pastels, a few years ago Julianne embarked on a new medium with painting in oils. “Painting with oils I can build and create dimension on the canvas. Julianne’s primary focus with the oils has been the color, landscape and aspen. “I love to focus on the trunks and the unique scarring they exhibit. I see the parallels between humans and aspen with the scars we bear, endure and earn over our lifetime. Each one unique, but ours to wear. Similarly, I see in the aspen, the interconnectedness in the whole of the aspen grove's root system; just as the aspen are forever banded together. That is how we heal our scars, with the love and support of those close to us.”

Her award-winning paintings hang in numerous corporate and private collections as well as in various galleries throughout Colorado.  Her work has been selected for many juried shows and she has been published in a number of magazines, publications and books.
